the evolution of camwhoring

was at a marathon run event last sunday ...MpSJ 10km Run (don't be impressed yet...mine's the 3km run only :P) my family join the (almost) annually organised run without fail every year.... So this year as usual the whole family buckle up and head off to MPSJ at 7.00 AM on a Sunday (blARDy earlY!!!!!). Actually it is rather fun to jog/run together with hundreds of others so i wouldn't mind ler....

Nothing much has changed since the previous marathon, however this year I noticed a vast difference: There i was.... jogging and sweating like a pig...moving forward towards H2O....suddenly i saw a man stopping dead at his track, turn around and guess what was in his hands? a DIGITAL CAMERA............. +_+............people actually bring their digicam along for their marathon!!!!! then he started to click away trying to get a good shot of his sweaty looking daughter (who prolongs the whole process by being "camera-shy") i am really puzzled as to how they are inspired to do so.... mobile phone also seemed quite weird already what more a digicam *pengsanz*.. sighz.
Not only that... after a few more metres i spot a woman this time..... she's got this gym bag strapped to her shoulder and holding a camera - in which i assumed she wasn't part of the marathon la since her bag is quite big - she was standing just beside the running crowd, tipping on her toes to spot her targeT.... then finally a guy in tight long suit (looks more of a diving suit to me rather than a running one) slows down and smiles at her. Then you know what he does after that? he stopped just a few feet from her and flashes a big smile while posing a Peace sign at the camera m( _ _)m he then continues to run after about 6 seconds...... interesting.....

Apart from that.... there was this guy who ran without tying his almost shoulder length hair- reddish, a bit wavy but soft looking - and the way he ran was like....practised in such a way that his hair sways from side to side nicely (sort of like how the Sunsilk commercial girl's hair sways when she flings it)..... Tis coming from a G.U.Y............... i wonder if there was an unseen camera somewhere that i didn't know and he was posing for it. Either that or he was hoping to appear on national TV due to the "swiftness" of his hair +_+

alas..... we've made it through (and still got time for breakie :P)

WEEEEEeeeeee i feel sooOOooooo goOD haha has been falling in and out of sleep for the last 8 hours cuz of assignment... now finally we're done!!! Our version of Mr BrightSide :D first time doing filming/videocam and it was actually not bad.... we - hsin, me and rach - the people working on post-production are ESPECIALLY happy of course(unless if u REALLY love doing this kinda shit... don't ever take this up as your major)..... but then we shall share our joy with the rest of the wonderful group members in about 2 & half hours time. ReallY hope we won't disappoint Sham (our screen lecturer) tho - to feel that his students did not learn anything at all for the past 15 weeks or so would be the same as stabbing his heart with a knife (okay la.. a bit exaggerated hahaha but stilll...)

All in all.... i would like to say that i'm glad i ended up with all these great friends as my groupie mates ... i think i had more fun rather than doing more work HAHAHAH good or bad dunno.. have to see what sham says later on. THE TWO CHA BOHS BEHIND ME SLEEPING RIGHT NOW - weeEeee i'm glad i came and bunk over/try to help out.... it was fun while i wasn't not sleepy lerr hahhahaha but then again... thanks for giving me the privilege to sleep when i nod off hehe *hugggZiiieeeeee* and now it's my turn to worry whether the CD is gonna turned out burnEd like it's supposed to or just plain... BURNED :\ *crosses my fingers*

A young woman went to her mother and told her
about her life and how things were so hard for her.
She did not know how she was going to make it
and wanted to give up. She
was tired of fighting and struggling. It seemed as
one problem was solved, a new one arose.

Her mother took her to the kitchen. She filled three
pots with water and placed each on a high fire.
Soon the pots came to boil. In the first she placed
carrots, in the second she placed eggs, and in the
last she placed ground coffee beans. She let them
sit and boil, without saying a word.

In about twenty minutes she turned off the burners.
She fished the carrots out and placed them in a
bowl. She pulled the eggs out and placed them in a
bowl. Then she ladled the coffee out and placed it
in a bowl.

Turning to her daughter, she asked, "Tell me, what
you see?"

"Carrots, eggs, and coffee," she replied.

Her mother brought her closer and asked her to
feel the carrots. She did and noted that they were
soft. The mother then asked the daughter to take
an egg and break it. After pulling off the shell, she
observed the hard boiled egg. Finally, the mother
asked the daughter to sip the coffee. The daughter
smiled as she tasted its rich aroma. The daughter
then asked, "What does it mean, mother?"

Her mother explained that each of these objects
had faced the same adversity - boiling water. Each
reacted differently. The carrot went in strong, hard,
and unrelenting. However, after being subjected to
the boiling water, it softened and became weak. The
egg had been fragile. Its thin outer shell had
protected its liquid interior, but after sitting
through the boiling water, its inside became
hardened. The ground coffee beans were unique,
however. After they were in the boiling water, they
had changed the water.

"Which are you?" she asked her daughter. "When
adversity knocks on your door, how do you
respond? Are you a carrot, an egg or a coffee
bean?"

Think of this: Which am I? Am I the carrot that
seems strong, but with pain and adversity do I wilt
and become soft and lose my strength?

Am I the egg that starts with a malleable heart, but
changes with the heat? Did I have a fluid spirit, but
after a death, a breakup, a financial hardship or
some other trial, have I become hardened and stiff?
Does my shell look the same, but on the inside am
I bitter and tough with a stiff spirit and hardened
heart?

Or am I like the coffee bean? The bean actually
changes the hot water, the very circumstance that
brings the pain when the water gets hot; it releases
the fragrance and flavour. If you are like the bean,
when things are at their worst, you get better and
change the situation around you. When the hour is
the darkest and trials are their greatest, do you
elevate yourself to another level? How do you
handle adversity? Are you a carrot, an egg or a
coffee bean?

May you have enough happiness to make you
sweet, enough trials to make you strong, enough
sorrow to keep you human and enough hope to
make you happy.

The happiest of people don't necessarily have the
best of everything; they just make the most of
everything that comes along their way. The
brightest future will always be based on a forgotten
past; you can't go forward in life until you let go of
your past failures and heartaches.
